I don't know. :( It's like they read "angel" and then their imaginations automatically input what they expect an angel to look like. I've encountered this in real life too:

Friend: Well, first I picture long, slender fingers...
Me: ... (thinking: WHAT)
Me: I think he looks like our HS librarian! (Note: Who was blond, chubby and the whole school thought he was gayer than...well, you know. He really was an American Aziraphale)
Friend: Ew!
Me: ...
