19. You know... against my better judgment, I'm going to agree with you. I'm sick to death of feminists attacking everything in the world because women are "objectified" or "badly portrayed" in it. You know what? If it makes you so angry, stop watching and participating in it. Is it an unwritten feminist law that you must seek out things you don't like? Honestly, I'm just as sick as everyone else of the Sakura/Orihime/Misa (especially, since I like her, but whatever)/various-other-female-character bashing, but you know what? I tend to stay away from those sides of fandom. Jesus, people, grow a fucking brain.
24. So agreed. I wish that I could actually admit to liking anime and manga offline, but due to the idiots that get obnoxious about it, we have a bad name as morons. :(

Honestly, it just comes down to the fact that it's going to take a very, very long time for society to change, and barging in like "OHMYGOD HOWDARE YOU" isn't going to help. So, if people know it triggers them to turn into slavering, rabid beasts, perhaps they should avoid it? ^^'

Well, they could be afflicted with train-wreck syndrome, where they know it's bad but they can't turn away. But more than likely they just like to complain.

Still, it does annoy me that a (small?) percentage of the group tries to get its point across by generally being asshats and gives the sane part of the group a bad name.
While fandom does tend to totally get off on female bashing, I'm either desensitized to it or I just don't frequent areas of fandom that do it that much. ^^' Most of the areas I hang around are actually fairly pro-female, or at least are nice to them.

I try to find them, mostly because even in my slash, I like to see the girls treated well. The villainization of females in order to get a slash pairing together tends to be my hotbutton, but I (thankfully) don't see it so much anymore. Then again, it may be my fandoms, which seem to be pretty female-friendly, all except for one. Gundam Wing will forever be anti-female, I believe. :(

Still, finding something and then getting angry about it and typing up a rage-filled comment isn't going to get your point across very well at all. Nor will the randomly placed "I'm better than you" smilies that generally mean you're trying to be elitest and failing pretty hard.
Also, at no point did I say you weren't allowed to be angry. I don't agree with your anger, but you've got all the right to it that you want.
