When I first heard about the HBO series I was ready to kill someone. Then I heard the director wanted to follow the comic closely, even as much as making each issue one episode. If he did that I would be satisfied, because I can't really see any character or any plot getting cut. And well, nothing beats Garth Ennis' writing.

One major weakness to an HBO series would be the lack of Steve Dillon's art. For this, part of me wishes it were animated.

Honestly, since a half-assed movie treatment got bounced around for so long before finally coming around HBO, I think it's a good thing. The story's too crazy and too long to fit in a movie, but basically every HBO show I've seen, I've loved.

I'm optimistic that it'll get a worthy treatment. And if it doesn't, the comic's still there. :-)
