Does anyone else freak out when cop cars w/ sirens on go by, even though you haven't done anything?

Because I just almost had a heart attack. I can't be the only one, right?

I don't get freaked out unless a cop car is sitting near me and then out of the blue does it. But it's mostly a, "HOLY SHIT SUDDEN NOISE" reaction and closely followed by a, "Did I do something wrong? No? Okay, good."

If I hear the siren coming from far away and slowly getting closer I get sad because I automatically assume there's been an accident or something.

Same here. If the siren sound suddenly starts vey close to me I'll jump a little.

I only really get freaked out/worried if I hear a bunch of sirens in a row in one area. Especially if they're fire trucks. :(

Oh yeah, firetrucks are the worst because you know something bad has happened.

I lived on a road that was situated between the volunteer fire department and my town center for eight years. I have a hard time realizing what a siren means, I just tune out the sound on autopilot.

Yes. I've been pulled over a few times and silently freaked out, only for the officer to be pretty friendly to me and say something about a tail light being out or that a sticker had expired or something.

ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

I used to have a song on my iPod that started with a distant ambulance siren and I would have a mini-heart attack every fucking time. It's not on my playlist anymore :|a

I pretty much go into panic mode whenever there's anything that remotely looks like flashing lights or sounds like sirens. Getting a ticket would screw me over so bad right now, it's not even funny /)_(\

Nah, sirens don't bother me (just from being too used to them).

If I see a cop when I'm driving I'll get nervous and sketchy but not to heart attack levels, just anxiety.

Not cop cars but fire engines and ambulances go near my house when I am walking home :( either my house is on fire or a family member has had a heart attack :(

Not when they go by, but anytime a cop car turns out behind me, I get a little wary...

Not really. I do get twitchy if I'm heading home up my street and fire engines go blaring past.

Once I'd actyually had my fire alarm going off 24/7 and I'd checked for fire/felt walls and figured they were broken. I had to wait 5 days for my friends with ladders to get home because the roof was so high and I've got a bad leg.

Anyway, the day a firetrack went down the st and I could smell smoke I jogged all the way home. (wasn't our house thankfully. just all batteries dying at once)
