I could understand that feeling if the accent is poorly done or to the point of ridiculous. But if it's accurate, what's the problem?

Maybe the OP doesn'T really notice the way they speak when they're talking but when They hear someone else talk in their own accent, they find the accent terrible and thus are reminded that they talk the same way?

Don't have this problem with accents, but definitely with some other physical traits: personally it makes me self conscious.
