I know fic exchanges and gift fic are pretty common, but money passing hands is not. Last I checked this was the biggest no-no in fandom, and liable to get you wanked upon good and hard if you are caught doing it. Writers are not allowed to profit on fanfic.

Most of the commissioned fic I've seen is for charity drives, so the money goes to said charity instead of to the author.
