(Anonymous) 2012-12-25 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)My own writing has improved drastically through the years. I can honestly say it isn't because of anyone's concrit, it's because of what I've learned studying books on style, grammar, the writings of other people, as well as professional experience as a proofer and exposure to the methods that professional editors use.
I am not opposed to concrit, and my friends don't hesitate to give it, but I've found over the years that I am my own best critic as I am not satisfied with my writing until it is perfect. A lot of my fanfic is being rewritten, or tagged "as is" and locked so my friends who have been enjoying that series can still read it.
I've learned that anyone who is genuinely interested in improving thier writing will say so and welcome good concrit. Otherwise all of this is just a massive non-issue to me.
