This is everything that made me love the character to bits right away despite the fact that I was all geared up to pout about Jacksonesque padding being inserted into a story I loved. *adores*

I liked that touch for just that reason.

He is so completely isolated from anyone/thing but nature that he is just out of shits to give. So he borrows the birds'. (I apologize.)

Exactly this. Oh, sure it's going to make other people uncomfortable and stuff but he ain't got time for people! They (and their clean washed sensibilities) don't matter on any level to Radagast. AT ALL! And that's a pretty clear way to show that.

So much this! I was confused at the thread here, because, well, honestly, people? Most of you will happily watch gore and other stuff and then you complain about something silly like that? When it comes to such a character? It couldn't have fitted better to show where he stands in society/what his priorities are. And let me tell you - I doubt that soap and water would have helped against the spiders or to keep his friend alive. Just saying.

Radagast was beautifully developed and very much kick-ass, so get over yourself over something unimportant like that (especially seeing that we are talking about a fictional character here and not somebody you'll have to share your seat in the bus with).

(and not to forget the fact that he was played by Sylvester McCoy, one of the best Doctors ever!)
