You can tell George Lucas is a sell-out, with Peter Jackson and the crew they genuinly love and respect the source material. I'm glad they are the ones putting the text into film. Like others have already said, Jacskson is not just putting shit out there all of this stuff is from Tolkein's stuff. The movie has the same charm and atmosphere that LotR had... and it's enjoyable for fans of the LotR trilogy. So no, I don't think Lucas and Jackson are anything alike at all.
