I would imagine they mean 'Bones'. And no, that fandom didn't like rare pairs at least when I lurked about in it a while back.

Most secrets in this comm are only "obvious to members of that fandom," with the exception of those that specifically spell out what they're referring to (and there are actually fewer of those than you think).

I am assuming the show is Bones? Because that is what I got from that pic. Bones.

I thought it was Grey's Anatomy...buuuut my mind tends to wander like that, Bones seems more obvious.

Skeletons have a fandom? o_O

My first thought was "It's a fandom with humanoids who have skeletons? Thanks for narrowing it down, OP." The Anons above are probably right about it being Bones, though.

I don't know why this was so hilarious, but it was.

Assuming we're talking about Bones, I feel your pain OP. I was vaguely into that show for a while and tried browsing through that fandom but it was pretty much all B/B, all the time. Even Hodgins/Angela, a CANON ship, didn't have much fan-material dedicated to them.

Okay, but... rare pair implies that not a lot of people ship it. So it's rare. Not shipping something does not automatically mean OMG EVERYBODY ELSE HATES IT! Which is kind of what I got from this... :\

I understand you anon. I still search for a good Booth/Sweets fic but I think this is impossible. :(

i'm not in the bones fandom (if that's what the skeleton's implying) but i live and breathe rare-pairs so i know how you feel. it can be super frustrating and lonely.

Well...by definition the rarest pairings are going to seem the most hated by a fandom but I guess there are some where you're more likely to get a "Nice fic! But why don't you write [most popular ship]?" comment because people push the pairing as status quo. And that sucks.

I thought it was The Invisible Man for some reason. Doh...

Isn't the fact that the fandom hates them what makes them rare pairs?

I'm guessing the fandom is Bones. And yeah, that's one fandom I never felt much urge to poke into because I was satisfied with what canon gives me in the way of pairing. (In fact a bit more than satisfied, a bit oversated).

I'm always disappointed with fandoms that seem to be easy to pair everyone and no one wants to pair anyone but the juggernaut couple. But it happens more often than not. I'm always happy when I come across a fandom that is actually rare-pair friendly.

If everyone loved them, they wouldn't be rare!

I don't really understand loving rare pairs just because they are rare. I'm more interested in the on-screen chemistry or the possibilities that can be explored by pairing two characters, not how popular the pairing is.

Actually, I think the chemistry is great in the rare pair I like. If I ship a rare pair, though, I wonder if the chemistry is all in my head.
