Can someone tell me when all this rape supposedly happened (ON THE SHOW, not the books)? The way people act it's like 45 minutes of an hour long show is just a series of scenes of rape.

They live in a horrible world. Expect horrible things to happen.

I guess there's the Dany/Drogo scenes in the first two episodes and in the second season Sansa is almost gang-raped before she's rescued by the Hound. Can't think of anything else.

Spontaneously I remember Khal Drogo raping Daenerys (the first time, she didn't want it) and the mention of lots of raping when Khal Drogo and his men raided these village people (I think the one woman Daenerys "rescued" said something like she was already raped three times before Daenerys stopped the men).

There's a wildling village in the second season where the village chief lives with his daughters and no other males. It is implied that he has sex with his daughters and grand-daughter/daughters, and that he leaves the boy children as sacrifices for the white walkers to keep the village safe from them.

Yeah. All three things that the above responders listed I remember. Still doesn't seem as rapey as people say.

+1 Besides, the portrayal of rape on a show is one thing, the implied endorsement of rape culture is another. GRRM and the producers of the show clearly indicate that THIS IS BAD NEWS. It's not fetishized, and if it is, boy, that's the fault of the people watching and reading, because I don't think GRRM could have been clearer. The show is even clearer about Dany/Drogo as non-con in the beginning than the book is, at that.

You'll probably find both things there, it depends on how you read/interpret his blog. But you will find "envy-comments" about other authors who won "his" supposed prize etc. Don't know if his rant entries are still completely there because there is a strict censorship in his blog (which is not a real blog but a livejournal) and comments from other users are heavenly censored/deleted if they don't fit his opinion.

A large part of why GRRM bothers me is not the rape that does occur in the series, but that he really seems to be titillated by the threat of it, particularly with Sansa.

And I have no desire to live in or watch a horrible world where horrible things happen. What a ridiculous way to spend an hour. Shit.
