Hello, I'm Australian. Down here at the arse end of the world we have very strict gun laws. The nearest I've been to a gun is when I spent a weekend and a family friend's farm and he shot some wild cockatoos out of one of his fruit trees. (Wild cockatoos can be a pest.) The gun was a rifle, and some automatic or semi-automatic thing, just a simple farmer's rifle. It was bloody loud.

I generally believe in the strict gun laws we have down here, and will back any effort America makes to move in that direction.

On the other hand, I am a realist when it comes to how ubiquitous guns are in America, so I have no problem watching a TV series about a pair of guys who unashamedly have an arsenal in the trunk of their car (said arsenal includes a variety of guns, knives, occult defensive items and borax-based detergent).

I would never own a gun myself, let along a personal arsenal, but I totally believe that it is ridiculously unrealistic for a pair of fictional characters like Sam and Dean Winchester to not own an arsenal of weapons.

TL;DR Fiction is not Real Life. Just because I am a fan of guys who use guns doesn't mean I'd ever use one myself.
