Lex Trent vs the Gods, a YA fantasy book. The story is average, though the world is pretty cool - but by god is the main character a douche. It surprised me just how douchey he was - usually if the hero of a book is a jerk, they're the nicer variety of jerk, or at least get better. He's just an awful human being. I couldn't stop reading.

(Which reminds me - note to self, track down the second book in the series. Maybe he'll get better then.)
