I'm a fan of the show(and books) but I can completely understand why others would dislike it and I wouldn't get angry at anyone over that(judging me for liking it is another matter entirely). I don't like misogyny or rape in rl at all and even in a lot of fictional settings I don't like it but I think the reason why I can deal with it in ASOIF is because the setting is fucked up as it is anyway. Everyone is horrible and has horrible things happen to them, and yes it does suck that the default bad situation for seemingly every female in the books is 'lets rape her!' but I've just stopped expecting anything different from GRRM at this point.

You have the right not to like it OP, it's not for you and there is nothing wrong with that.

seems like if you like GRRM, you're totes obligated to defend his rape themes cuz MEDIEVAL TIMES, you know.

MEDIEVAL TIMES, REALISM, bro! I'll take my medieval fantasy with an extra helping of the rape. Make that two helpings, because horrible things, three because we don't want to mis out on any women, and because SJWs suck.

Has anyone else stopped to think that maybe the reason that there is so much mention of rape happening/being threatened to female characters is because he thinks that one of the worst things that can happen to a woman is to be forced to do something sexual against her will? Because I can't think of very many things worse than being forced to reproduce/carry the offspring of my rapist.
