Eh, I don't give a shit. You legitimately liked the book on its own merit and ended up really enjoying it? I don't care why you got into it.

Is it best practices to get into things for the purposes of pretension? No, it's a habit that you oughta get out of, it's not really a great way of looking at the world. But it's not the worst thing in the world ever, it's a natural human inclination, and as you've seen it can lead you to some really great things that you legitimately love.
