Go halfway: ask him if he's had time to play through it and how much longer he thinks he might have it? You can always tell him that you've been wanting to play it through again just so you have a kinder-sounding excuse than just wanting your property back (which I totally understand, btw, I'm just saying - some people get offended if you insinuate that you don't trust them to give you your stuff back).
