Agreed about the disclaimer, but I'd generally be more leary of straight guys writing femslash.

Sadly, not for the reason cited in the secret right above this one (lol, good timing, wot?), but because...even if I'm reading porn, I'd like to feel like I'm reading about two characters who are doing it because they want to (...or at least because one wants to...I like some dub-con, or even non-con, if done well), not as wank fodder, and my experience with fandom guys has been...less than stellar in that respect. Not their writing, so much, since I've not seen a lot of femslash fic written by guys, but their reactions to other people's - one board I was on a couple years ago, there were a group of guys who'd interrupt 'shipping conversations complaining about 'shipping...until it was girl/girl 'ships, then they'd hoot and holler like they were at some sort of strip show (virtually speaking). (It particularly annoyed me when I posted a fluffy 'ship-fic where the characters didn't even kiss until the last paragraph.)

your description sounds pretty much exactly like a lot of yaoi/slash fangirls tbh. you know, the ones who flip their shit if two male characters exchange pleasantries in canon/fic and write incredibly OOC fic because they want two dudes to bang. it amuses me that there is a male equivalent in fandom (though I guess it doesn't surprise. I've just never really been in fandoms with much of a male presence, even when femslash is involved)
