It takes a thorough understanding of what a tone argument is, and more importantly, isn't, to understand that this is not one. Most of the places where I think this needs to be brought up, I'd be shouted down by people who think all criticism is derailing. Hence, secret.

I'm really happy at how much I'm learning from the ensuing conversations this started on f!s. Apart from feeling heard, people are mentioning a lot of relevant things I hadn't thought about.

Oh, no, I just meant that in the past, "secrets" submitted to fandomsecrets typically got rejected as non-secrets when they were worded in a way that was less, "I feel that..." and more just stating something, such as this secret does. But then, F!S has slowed down so much that I'm sure those standards have loosened a bit. Glad you're gaining something from the experience, tho! That's far better than wank, right?

Definitely.

I don't know what made the difference, but I put something in my subject line explaining why this was a secret. It was already a lot of text, and I figured the s!b part didn't add anything to the main point.
