[personal profile] chardmonster 2012-12-30 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
DAMMIT NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT THE SUICIDE PART OR THE CATHOLICS

DON'T THEY KNOW I'M TRIGGERED BY TRAGIC MISTAKES

I'M GOING TO READ SOMETHING NICE AND HAPPY, NOW. I'VE HEARD MACBETH HAS WITCHES!

You should probably lay low on the trigger warning stuff for a couple of days chard.

Has this been a hard week for you? Are you venting, or something?

Hahaha. For fuck's sake. If you can't see the difference between someone actually going through shit and the thread on "Romeo And Juliet Wank" please crawl back to the tumblr lair from which you came.

Macbeth's sure to cheer you up! It even has a moving forest, so you know the magical and whimsical abound!

But if you really need some fluff to comfort you, Hamlet has this very heartwarming family story. The stuff of Hallmark channel movies, really.

I heard that Titus Andronicus has some good family dynamics, too!

ayrt Awww I forgot about that one for a moment! It used to be my go-to read for winter afternoons, all tucked-in and a cup of hot cocoa in my hand! Good times.

These days I just wrap myself up in a blanket and watch the Akira Kurosawa remakes for a lighthearted and more modern approach to the material.

Also, I still can't believe how people praise that terrifying Much Ado About Nothing. I mean, I know there's people out there who can get enjoyment out of anything but... man... the world's already a depressing place, why have your reading material so grim and gritty and... ugh. Just no *shudder* I prefer Hamlet's whacky swashbuckling and Ophelia's swimming lessons.

Speaking of winter afternoons, I was really disappointed by A Winter's Tale. It starts out promising, but the ending is incredibly bleak and pessimistic -- it's hard to believe that the play was written by the same guy who wrote Antony and Cleopatra! (Now there's a fluffy romance I can get behind!)

I know you have a hate boner for trigger warnings, but you should at least try to give it a brief rest. You're just making yourself look like a complete ass.

Did a trigger warning kill your mother and forget to warn you

Fuck you, you just triggered her again you insensitive ass...

Poor Mrs. Monster (she was overcooked with water, so we called her Boiledmonster). I'll never forgive myself for being away when the trigger warnings came.

She went down fighting and took three of them with her. I can only hope I'll make such a good accounting if and when they come for me.
