When TV characters take a ludicrously long time to answer a ringing phone while they scrabble for the handset, or wake up, or whatever establishing action they have going on. Sometimes you'll get up to ten rings. That shit has gone to voice mail or the person has hung up by now!

OMG, yes. Or people who don't wake up until it's rung like ten times. Really? The first ring startles me awake and into heart palpitations, sheesh.

It... has... happened to me. Really. It's like it slowly becomes louder as you progressively wake up, and then it's 'oh shit that weird sound is actually the phone pick it up pick it up quick!' time.

Hehe. That only happens to me when i've taken allergy meds and am a zombie. Ever since i was a kid, though - alarms, phones, people touching me, *bam* - i'm awake.

And, in the case of the latter, i'm hitting somebody, 'cause wow, don't *touch* me when i'm asleep.

It's probably because it's really fucking hard to wake me up unless you touch me. Not even calling my name. Shouting it, even. No shaking though or I WILL be in a foul mood, and I'll totally blame you for being a jerk T__T

I *hate* being woken up by loud noises. My alarm is a real quiet beep on my phone and i have it under my pillow. My SO wakes up to music on his tablet and omg, it just irritates me.

My alarm has to be obnoxious because, well, I won't wake up otherwise. I need it to register as something intrusive and annoying and in need to be SHUT THE FUCK UP to wake me up. Unless I somehow develop an alarm that touches me. And does NOT do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ-l5PlDa-k

Oh, man, i would kill someone if that was how they woke me up. I'm lucky in that, someone opening the bedroom door will wake me, so my daughter coming in at 2 a.m. after a nightmare or something, i was awake before she got to the bed.

Which was good, because the few times i've been 'shaken' awake, i lashed out, heh. My little brother knows all too well!
