Re: Dragon Age 2?

Mechanically speaking, I found Dragon Age 2 superior. I normally play on easy mode, because I want to experience the story and don't really give a crap about the mechanical factors. In DA:O fights could take forever because I would have to micromanage every party member's every spellcast. In DA2, on easy mode at least, the AI is a lot smarter than in DA:O. Sometimes I would have to micromanage, but it wasn't every fight, every move.

Storywise, DA2 is a smaller story. This isn't a bad thing, per se. But DA:O is this epic adventure to save the world, and DA2 is... about this one character and their group of friends in this one city. A number of the mixed reviews I saw were people disappointed in the story type change; they wanted more epic adventures, and DA2 really isn't that.

I really liked both games, but in different ways. I loved DA:O for the heroic save the world storylines (and the party members! omg), and I loved DA2 for the more personal storylines and closeness you feel with your party.

It is buggy, but if you're playing the PC version, there are mods for most of the problem stuff. I actually did not run into many issues when playing through, and I've played it about 2 and a half times now.
