The story is really good, particularly the romances and the rivalry/friendship system. The characters are amazing.

As said above, however, it is repetitive. Also I personally found the gameplay terrible (what do you mean I can't equip my party members or build their skill trees however I like?), but there are plenty of mods to take care of that.

Also OT, but I started playing DA2 after hearing that the engine was an updated version of the NWN engine (which I love), and ended up hating said engine so much I pretty much modded it away.
