There is no way this isn't a troll.

Srsly, what else is this generation going to do in its late thirties. You're exhausted and your kids are getting older and sucking more of your spare change. At least videogames are there at all the weird hours you might actually be able to scrounge to do something, don't cost as much as a trip to a ski lodge and they won't wear you out as much as bowling.

That and this is a generation that grew up on video games from infancy. The average gamer is in his/her thirties. So, it's not like you, if you are in your 30's, is going to be the only adult in a sea of tweens and teens. If anything, you are going to find more adults than kids because adults are more likely to have the funds to buy those games.

Exactly. We grew up with gaming and gaming grew up with us. There's no real precedent in place to make us let it go because it wasn't an issue previous generations had to face. Their toys for kids stayed toys for kids. Ours didn't.

I'd say the days of video games being mostly for children were long gone, but I'm not sure they were ever there to begin with. As for today, well, I've just taken a look at the front page of Steam. Not only are none of the featured games targeted at children, a good chunk of them aren't even suitable.

Today's sale couldn't have been a better example. Skyrim, The Witcher and GTA. You know, for kids!

I was just coming here to say that. Seriously, either Riley herself or Neo had to have posted that.

I'm nearly fifty. Guess I'd better quit RPGing, stat.

Troll or not, I'm more surprised they singled out Double Fine's campaign and not the Homestuck video game campaign that made $2 million.
