If you haven't actually been there, then you have no ground to stand on.

I respect someone who says, "I've been to NYC and I don't like it." I don't respect someone who says, "I don't like NYC because someone else told me they don't like it," which is what you've basically done.

That said, you're free to not want to go there/be able to go there, just like people who like theater are free to not want or be able to go to ~sooper high end authentic Broadway plays
