. . .as a 'fake theater nerd' who lives an hour from the exact center of North America, I thoroughly appreciate the linkage to the bootlegs of the Broadway productions.

Also fuck you for being elitist, I can't afford to go to New York whenever I want, or even to Minneapolis, which, btw, has the second most number of theater seats in the US after NYC and houses the Nationally Acclaimed Guthrie, but yeah also totally not legitimate or anything.

LOL, you actually said that. Hahhaha. I'm amused. I saw LES Mis with cheap tickets in London when I lived there, once. It was passably amusing. But elite, so not. This musical, is the least elite musical ever, in fact, only Andrew Lloyd Webber could be less elite.

And they're lording the complications of travel that people have and saying because they can't fly out to new york all the time it makes them bad fans. It doesn't. I'm not even in this fandom, I just enjoy musicals and don't like being talked down to for enjoying them in the 'wrong' way.

But judging from this thread and the amount of assholes in it I'm glad I'm not in it either, and I hope all of them stay away from my actual fandoms if they always act this asshole-ish online.

Only Lloyd-Webber? Don't forget Wildhorn! Or Schwartz, who wrote Wicked, which must be some kind of theatre-snob sin. I mean, if we're going for "What musical theatre composer can you safely admit to liking in front of theatre-snob friends?", Sondheim is pretty much the only safe bet. Me, I freely admit to having no taste, so I can enjoy everything. I find it's less work than figuring out composer hierarchy.
