While personally I don't ship anything, I don't really care if fandom does. Go wild!

But damn if 'Thilbo Baggenshield' isn't the stupidest ship name I've ever heard.

(At least people usually just say the Baggenshield part).

I don't mind 'Bagginshield' too much, mostly because it sounds like it could be an actual name... somewhere.

'Thilbo', however, sounds like a dodgy sex toy.

It's really, 100% seriously, the ship name. It's not like the Hunger Games "Peeniss" or "Katnip" - people actually use it.

I find this endlessly hilarious. XD

That 'i' makes the whole shipname, really. Without the 'i' it would just be silly, now won't it.

(Everyone wishes they'd thought of that. It's the best thing in the world. Whenever you feel down about ship names, just think of Peenis, and the world will suddenly feel like a much brighter place.)

Aw, I actually think Bagginshield is a badass ship name

Bagginshield by itself is alright - it's the Thilbo part that makes me cringe, haha.

But don't let my amusement stop you, call it whatever you like! I'm just endlessly entertained and charmed by the burgeoning Hobbit fandom. It's fun to observe.

I agree with you there - "Bagginsheild" is not too bad, but "Thilbo" sounds like the name of a sextoy that's been misspelled (i.e. "Thrilbo).
