I can't say I have ever seen Broadway in NYC but my folks took us to see the touring productions in the Seattle theatre, but we also saw stuff locally in the Olympia area. The local high school drama dept was awesome, and they put on productions of stuff that my folks had taken us to see in Seattle, where the high schoolers did a far better job.
