I also don't know why Sansa fans insist she, too, is awesome at the Game of Thrones from her harrowing experiences in King's Landing. I guess it's logical to think Littlefinger might teach her to be so, but so far there's really nothing to indicate that she's got more innate skill at it than her mom. Which is to say, better than anyone else in her family, but still not very good. I understand it's probably a backlash against her haters just like it is with Cat, but really, are we reading the same books here?

The major chessmasters in the GoT are the Lannisters, by which we really have to mean Tywin and Tyrion; Littlefinger; Varys; and the Tyrells. And the Tyrells are going to win because they also have strong family bonds, which the others do not.

I don't think anyone says that Sansa is good at the game, it's that she's going to be good at the game and be a major player.

And the Tyrells ain't going to win, that ain't the way the world of ASOIAF works.

I bet you a dollar they do. You'd best pay up when the time comes.

WELL I BET YOU A DOLLAR THEY WON'T

Seriously, though, I think it would make sense in-universe for the Tyrells to win, but I don't think it would make narrative sense, and I don't think it would fit what I think GRRM is ultimately trying to do with the series. I could be wrong (but I'm not) (and you're going to owe me a dollar)

I was reading through your post and not really agreeing, but whatever, you didn't sound like a hater and I could respect your opinion.

But then I got to the part about the Tyrells winning it all, and you lost all credibility.
