Other anons have given some good insight, but on the topic of RP qua RP and finding people with similar kink/fetish interests you might actually want to try RP spaces and see if you hit it off with any players there.

DWRP definitely has a consistent stream of adult/kink type memes to RP in so maybe you could check out bakerstreet (an open RP meme community), the_love_hotel (an open adult RP), or rpanons (anonymous discussion). I bring this up also because there are often out of character discussions and memes specifically looking for people who share similar interests and these can often be centred around adult themes.

As a cautionary though, I would not go into these spaces as though they are dating spaces. You were saying you'd "settle" for friends to talk about this stuff with and I think you would be able to find people with similar kinks out there, but if it does seem of interest go in it for the RP and the potential discussion/friendship, not with the expectation that you're shopping for a date. If you find someone you really click with as a person then like any other space just roll from there.

Basically, maybe check this stuff out and don't be a jackass. Basic rule of any social space, really.
