Body hate of any form is no fun at all to live with :( You can still prefer reading slash fics even if you do like your body! Lots of people do! But it's better if you can enjoy something for its own sake and not just because it's not something that causes you mental anguish.

I'm not sure how that will really help when everyday society reinforces that some of us are just empirically undesirable and should be disgusted with ourselves. Many would say the OP is actually genuinely self aware and other people need to not be so bigoted about the fact many people enjoy slash, for many reasons.

I don't have an issue with them liking slash (heck, I like slash), but if they so intensely hate their body that the idea of the feminine form completely disgusts them? Some sort of counseling would hopefully help, because that sounds like it might be a serious problem.

I mean, I'm a woman, and yeah I'm not always happy with my body, and yes there's a lot of pressure on me to conform to a certain standard of beauty. But it doesn't mean that the very idea of any woman being involved in a sexual relationship makes me uncomfortable. That's pretty extreme.

When I'm reading fic porn, I put myself into one of the character's places, doing that with a female character makes me too self-concious and takes me out of the fantasy. I am kind of disturbed by descriptions of female genitalia as mine are wierd looking and I can't help thinking of that when reading het. Slash is much more "not me" and therefore more fun.

Internalizing external pressures can cause a variety of serious disorders, hence the worry. OP is perfectly within her right to like whatever she wants for whatever reason, and you're perfectly correct that people need to not be bigoted about other people's entertainment preferences. But for her own sake, it might be beneficial for her to talk to a professional about this issue because maybe she can learn how to be okay with her body and cope with the gross images of "perfection" society forces on women. Nobody is saying it's easy, but if the problem comes from society, then maybe she can learn to direct the disgust at society rather than at herself.
