Re: TB
(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:18 am (UTC)(link)The secret itself is about as long as your average K-pop secret, imo, though badly in need of a proofread.
Re: TB
(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 12:40 am (UTC)(link)tl;dr: it's basically about how people being assholes in the internet and in fandom is silly and is definitely not badass, edgy nor cool at all, and refusing to take accountability for your behavior online is immature and only what is "expected" because we have allowed it to be so

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 01:24 am (UTC)(link)are you saying i'm the op? because, no, i am not
if nothing else, i would never make such a terribly designed secret
GIVE ME MORE CREDIT, RANDOM ANON
Re: TB
(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 02:53 am (UTC)(link)OP
(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 04:02 am (UTC)(link)anon that was confused for you
(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 04:14 am (UTC)(link)if you submit a secret again, aim for legibility in the design, proofread your text and try to cut out excess wording if you can
tips:
make sure there isn't text in the background; the tv tropes page in the background wasn't necessary for your secret to get across and all the text from it competed for attention with your own text
colors: contrast is your friend; if you have dark backgrounds, use the lightest colors for your text, and viceversa
avoid neon or bright colors
there are places to look for legible and clear color combinations if you are interested
align the text in a way that it is easy to read; sure it is tempting to arrange it around your background picture, but if you find yourself having to place your text all over the place, then find a better picture! the picture should serve the secret, not the other way around
use a font size and type that is easy to read, give that priority over the prettiness of the font
save in a format that doesn't blur the text, jpg and jpeg seems to do this, in particular, but not exclusively, with red texts
avoid red text
try to aim for symmetry, in your block(s) of text, both horizontally and vertically, and leave enough space between elements (text, parts of the background picture, borders, etc.), that it looks balanced and pleasant to the eye
Re: anon that was confused for you
(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 04:17 am (UTC)(link)if it is the right size (600 x 600 pixels is the upper limit I think)
if it saved correctly
if it looks all right in your computer
if it uploaded correctly
if it looks all right in your image host service
if you submitted a valid link to fandom secrets

(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 04:27 am (UTC)(link)Re: anon that was confused for you
(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 04:42 am (UTC)(link)it is very much something you learn through trial and error, so try not to feel too frustrated if it's not coming all right or if it looks awkward, even after a dozen attempts
it takes time to get there!
no subject
(Anonymous) 2013-01-01 07:00 am (UTC)(link)If you can sum things up into a tl;dr at the end, consider just making that the whole secret.
