Am I the only one who gets the impression that this movie is a parody of the vampirezombiewerewolfunicorn romance genre craze?

You are not alone. Though not like a REAL parody more like self-aware of its premise and not afraid to not take it seriously. UNLIKE all the twilight knock offs that take it so omg drama bomb seriously. That's their whole thing.

Personally I am so so tally gonna watch this movie. The humor is totally right up my alley and I would be shipping stuff anyway its nice that the movie does it for me.

That's largely the impression I get from the trailer. I saw it as a mix between parodizing and playing it straight. Of course, trailers aren't always accurate, so who knows?

Well, it is classified as a comedy (and romance/horror) so I don't think it's going to take itself super seriously

As someone who saw a preview screening, it's not a parody, really, but it very much IS a comedy. It's aware that the premise is ridic and although it plays the romance pretty straight -- it's not a deconstruction at all -- it's all done in a humorous way. Much more in line with other zombie comedies than Twilight et al.

I thought it was a parody/teenromance/comedy and general zombie silliness and cute antics.

Not my thing, but it'll probably appeal to someone. The jokes in the trailer were pretty good.
