It seems like this really needs an adjustment for size of fandom. Most of the ones mentioned as most batshit have been big ones, and the least batshit ones fairly small.

My experience is that small fandoms with high guano quotients tend to either fall apart messily or explode, while large fandoms can handle the crap just through sheer volume.
