When he arrived with our 5 large pizzas to see three dudes and a girl whacking at each other with broadswords in the front yard. Only two of us had cloaks, but we were all well-armed.

LotR marathons are taken seriously in my household.

My roommates and I used to have lightsaber battles on our front lawn at night, which borders a busy street. Never caused any wrecks, and we had fun and entertained our neighbors and passersby. (And if they were weirded out rather than entertained, oh well.) We've got swords too, but never really fought with them because they're those useless display swords, we've no training, and we'd probably all end up hurting each other.

Look into Ampguard, Dagohir or whatever the third one's name is. Build yourself some hard-packed foam swords and beat the shit out of eachother without (too much) fear.

Ha. Our old daycare lady could see our backyard from her house and one Monday was like "so, I thought I saw 2 guys in your back yard sword fighting, but it may have been your neighbors." Nope, it was ours. My husband and our friend were practicing for a barbarian battle. As you do.
