You're allowed to not like the character but I feel you seriously didn't finish the game. Her behavior is explained and she has growth over time. There is a character arc. You seriously must not have been paying attention. I never remember her acting like she's six either.

Hate her for how she battles is the only thing I can understand, but then again, I thought there were more characters than just her who were not that great to battle with.

Maybe you can hate her for the reasons everyone else does? Because they just say they find her really annoying. But I guess... if you really don't like her you don't need a reason. It's not really necessary.

OP

I got as far as the point right before the Isle of Feros. (I couldn't find the Isle, and none of the FAQs on Gamefaqs were any help in getting to it.) I got the explanation that her family was easily conned and she needed money, and I also got the SUPERSECRETSPOILER that was supposed to make her interesting. I still think she's irritating.

That explains a lot. Just reading about it doesn't have the same impact as witnessing it unfolding. I hated Anise at first too, but by the end of the game she had become one of my favorites.

This thread made me realize that Anise was not voiced by Melissa Fahn. My mind was blown!

The Isle of Feres? That's the one that moves around the map and is normally close to Yulia City right? That's pretty late in the game if I remember correctly.

You're allowed to find her irritating. I could have just sworn she toned it down afterwards and changed a bit. You know, growing up and becoming a better person and all that. But what you're saying is that the storytelling fell flat for you. That's understandable.

It's neen a while since my last play through but I'm pretty sure she does. Her arc with Arietta really helped her come into her own, and it was such a sad one, too!

That and her relationship with Ion really helped paint her in a better light for me.

Well.. they *do* need a reason. It might not be a reason you agree with, it might be one you think is silly or doesn't matter, but people don't think things for literally no reason. It's more like there logically *must* be a reason.

I dunno, why do they need a reason? Can't they just not like something because they don't?

I mean, I understand what you're saying. When the OP responded to me they had a reason. I didn't agree with it but I respected it. However, I don't think someone has to have a firm reason why they dislike something.

I just wanted to stop in and say I'm glad there are people who think like this. So bloody tired of people acting like there's something wrong with me for not liking things they like.
