Generation X! Oh man. Oh wow, just every freaking thing about this team. Heck, and I started picking it up in the Hama and Dodson days, back when I was a wee one. Didn't even read the original stuff until I was in college. Still one of my favorite superhero teams of all time, and boy howdy do I wish there were more books like it right now. (Aside from general awesomeness, hey lookit that, a super-team made up of 50% women and only two white kids, and they never really had to make a thing out of it. It just was.)

More depressing for me than it being over is remembering how stoked I was when I found out Lobdell was going to be writing books in the nu52. I couldn't wait to see what the man who gave us Generation X--a book where women were treated like characters, and even Emma Frost, sex queen, was given respect and not turned into 100% sexy 100% of the time--would do next.

And we saw.

Ouch.
