Re: remixes/covers that are better than the original

You're going to laugh at me, but I prefer Shatner's version of The Common People (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ainyK6fXku0) better than the original by Pulp (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuTMWgOduFM).

It's just... much... better. :)

Wow i had no idea William Shatner did music at one point.

The more you know!

(And tbh I kinda like the contrast between this and the original, this one's more cynical.)

I prefer Shatner's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds to the original. I have no idea why.

More reasonably, Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You. Yes, the original has charm, but Houston completely blew it, and most other (torch) songs out of the water.

I agree. I have mad love for Dolly, but Whitney pwns that song.

It's kind of hard to explain the level of shock I'm in right now.

I came here to say exactly that. And somebody else has said it before me. Somebody else's first thought was also Shatner's cover of Common People.

What the actual fuck??? :/

We're what's wrong with the world, Other Anon.

Or, perhaps, we are what's right with the world. Everyone else is wrong.

It does have a lot of passion. I love his version of Mr. Tambourine Man.
