See, I take issue with that. Not saying he wasn't ALL IMPORTANT (he wasn't. He was a small guy in a big movie, and that's part of the charm). But he wasn't made just to be killed off. That's just factually inaccurate. He was in three other movies before they decided to kill him off. He wasn't made to be particularly important--he was a flavor character, if anything. But he wasn't made to be killed off.
