Re: feline AIDS is killing me.
It's hard to lose a kitty, even when you know it's coming. My ex's cat died at -- 23? 24? Not sure, somewhere in there. He was very old, and in degrading condition (although not in pain that we could tell), and we all knew it was coming, but... :-\
No matter how much time you have, it's never enough.
Are you able to take him to see a vet if he's in pain? My kitty is turning 10 this year and we were just able to get meds for her arthritis. (She was a feral kitten and broke her leg in two places, the vet confirmed. Nobody was able to catch her to take her to the vet, and it healed poorly.) I would think that given the situation, a vet would be able to do something to make things easier for the poor dear.
