Hey there! I'm glad you grew to love Ten! I love him and I love all his dramalama so it makes me vicariously happy to see him grow on someone. And Eleven's entrance scene is quite representative of his normal personality (just...not as unhinged ;)) so I hope you grow to love him too. (I love every single Doctor so even though it's completely silly of me, I get sad when I see people who love one but not another).

I don't think people wank much about Donna anymore though, especially not here, because every nitty-gritty facet of her exit has been picked over so many times by now, so you can feel free to discuss your conflicts without being afraid of a wanksplosion.

I just finished watching 11's first episode! OMG 11 is FUN! And adorable! :) And little Amelia/adult Amy was cool! This is going to be a fun series I can tell! Backing up a bit - yes 10 grew on me pretty quickly actually. Just had to learn to roll with the antics. He's not actually as obnoxious as I thought at first - just a very loud personality at times.

Regarding Donna - I'm mostly just not convinced there's any one right answer to how here ending went. On the one hand the Doctor basically forced something on her she didn't want - and given how strongly she was saying no, I understand the issues there with him taking her choice away from her. On the other I can also she how he couldn't just let her die - just like he couldn't or wouldn't want ANYONE to die if they could be saved. I mean he had just previously tried to save Davros of all people. Also his attempts to save the Master. (though maybe I'm missing some other history there do to only seeing the new show). Then there's the whole implication that Dalek Caan had been manipulating Donna's life all along so she'd become the DoctorDonna (and traveling with the Doctor was part of that manipulation) - meaning if she's now free of that - does she have the opportunity to make something better of her life? And like you said I'm all of these arguments and others have been discussed a thousand times over already...

Season 5 is definitely fun! Very, very different from season 4 and the specials :)

The choice thing bugged me a lot too, but my biggest complaint was the combination of that and the way her "fate" was portrayed. I don't think not remembering the Doctor was that terrible -- she still had all the potential to be awesome that she had always had. So what mainly annoys me is that the Doctor didn't try to tell her this and try to convince her that she could still be brilliant all by herself and her memories of him weren't worth dying for, and get her to believe in herself and consent to having her memories wiped, instead of just steaming ahead without her input. It seemed like the episode was saying that yup, Donna wasn't worth much without the Doctor, and that's what annoyed me.

Very good points, and yes I agree with you on what the episode seemed to be saying. I think they tried to suggest there wasn't time for a long discussion - and I don't think she would have been convinced that easily that her life was worth it. But still, you're right he should have tried.
