3. Why would you keep that a secret? Lunar is incredible and very few gamers will, like, argue with you. It's a Working Designs games. Playing WD (or ATLUS!) RPGs will always earn you automatic street cred from pretty much, uh, everyone who's ever owned a video game system in the last ten years. o__O

HERE'S A SECRET: It's not really hardcore or subversive to dislike or undermine FFVII anymore. Thinking FFVII "sucks" and is vastly inferior to every other RPG ever made is kind of the dominant opinion among gamers these days. I always hesitate to mention that FFVII is my other favorite Final Fantasy to people I don't know very well because it always results in a half hour lecture about why it's "NO GOOD" (mostly involving people ranting about how the plot is too ridiculous when we're discussing an RPG series that's pulled things like, OH, THAT TIME CECIL AND CO. RODE A WHALE TO THE MOON WASN'T THAT FUN?).

Long story short, I just don't get why that's a secret?

Although I will never, ever contest the awesome that is Lunar. Never in a million years. Never will there be another linear RPG so simple and perfect.

I'll drink to that. I haven't even played FFVII and I roll my eyes every time someone complains about being the "only person in the world who hates FFVII".

I adore Lunar: SSSC, but I also did enjoy playing FFVII despite it's flaws (as any RPG has). I'll fully admit, FFVII is the only FF game I've completed. Most RPGs just can't seem to catch my interest. (They're just not always my thing.)

The thing that baffles me is how cool it is to hate FFVII, and still no one notices this. If I had a dollar for every person who thought they were unique and controversial to hate FFVII, I'd pay them to shut up about it already.

Another word on the FFVII thing. I'm almost starting to expect an "It's so much better than FFVII!" (or Final Fantasy, period) follow-up comment every time someone proclaims their love for a less popular game.

I'll admit the hype and AC and whatever incarnation of FF7 out there gets super irritating to see everywhere, but how am I to really know? The game just didn't capture me as much as others (though I DID vow to beat it someday. Gad, I suck). But the number of FF7 haters is HUGE. I doubt they're anything BUT a minority now. :P

I don't dislike - or hate - FF7, and if I honestly thought I could undermine the fandom and it's fanbase by one tiny little pixelated secret I'd need a reality check. I don't think FF7 sucks, is inferior, or that it's fanbase is filled with mindless commercial drones. It's just simply a game that I prefer less than another and that it happens to be fairly obscure in the big wide interweb.

It's probably not a secret to lots of people, but I felt like it was important for me to share it.
