XMFC fandom. Alpha/Beta/Omega/Kappa/Delta/Gamma/Phi/whatever fic. I just don't get the appeal. It just seems like non-con to me, since the people involved have no control over who they want to be with. It's handwaved as BIOLOGY!@!!1 or a SOULBOND!!!@!1, but the whole concept is just two (or more) people being coerced into sex for shits and giggles. Which, now that I think about it, seems like it's a metaphor for fandom.

Now I want to make up something for every letter, like the Kappas have an uncontrollable desire to have coffee and a nice conversation with you and the Thetas have a biological need for someone with whom they can file a joint income tax return.

Yeah, I don't see the appeal of the rapey elements, either. I actually wrote an A/B/O fic for the express purpose of defying that trope. (Not XMFC, though)
