(Anonymous) 2013-01-05 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)Someone says the subject of parent/child is gross. That's their opinion of the subject. Now, did it say anything about the people who want this, want to write it, or read it, no.
I have a dear friend who enjoys some parent/child. Do I think she's gross for liking it? No. Do I think maybe a fic she loves is showing is gross? Well, yes, and we end up having a laugh over it.
This subject of peoples's opinons is taken way too seriously.

how does that work

-- a thing some people really think

(Anonymous) 2013-01-05 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)Seriously.
Like with my friend, a bunch of us were going ewwww with this one piece she was showing, and I told her, yes, it's gross, and it's written badly to boot, but if she gets something meaningful (and I still don't know what to this day) that's all that matters.
No one thought any less of her for that. There are so many other things we had in common.
