I don't get why people are so crazy about this movie. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but generally it seems more mediocre-good than awesome-good.
Rise Of The Guardians gets a lot of flack, but I actually thought the two movies were on par with each other.

I think people just love it so much because Disney only produced CGI crap before WIR came out. And no, I'm not referring to Pixar movies as Disneys. Disney CG is Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, The Wild and other junk like that.

I haven't even seen any of those other CGI films from Disney and I still loved WiR.

Also, WiR does turn some traditional Disney aspects on their head's, so that's another thing that might be causing people to like it.

Because people like different things. Neither my sister or I enjoyed RotG, as we found it boring and a chore to watch. We did, however, sit through and enjoy all of WiR. The conclusion here, is that WiR was good and RotG bad and considering she watched Despicable Me 5 times in a row, DM is awesome.

It really has nothing to do with the production company name/brand and everything to do with the stories and characters being interesting or not.
