I haven't seen Perks of Being a Wallflower, but I noticed this in the HP movies. In the first couple, I think she was the strongest of the kid actors, but as time went on you could see them improving drastically, while she stayed at the same level. In the final movies it becomes especially obvious. She still feels kind of amateurish compared to her costars.

I haven't seen the later movies. Did she ever learn to emote properly?

I mean, compared to the average high school drama club...? Maybe. But compared to the other people her age who had been in the films, you could see a clear difference.

I agree completely and I've been saying it for years

Daniel Radcliffe is also not a great actor but Emma Watson is just the worst and it plays a really large role in why the later movies are mostly not so good
