oh god, I hate these kinds of secrets. NO, OP, you're not a monster. Different people respond to things differently.

ALSO, the movie is a bad adaptation in my opinion, so that's not to say OP couldn't find emotional connection to one of the other adaptations/the book/whatever.

Crying at fiction is no indication of soul or lack thereof. That being said, I'll admit I got a little misty eyed at the end.

To be fair, people say that nonsense all the time. If you don't cry at this, you -are made of stone; -have ice in your veins; -have no soul; -aren't human; etc.

I'm a person who feels things extremely deeply but can vividly remember each of the 13 times in my 29 years I've actually cried and it's always been at fairly trivial shit. I've been hearing the above sentiment since I was a little kid (and for everyone's information, it's pretty damn hurtful). So I don't blame the OP for internalizing it.
