I'm confused about 'couldn't tell what was going on'. Either you were way distracted or you watched some random ep in the middle, because they're not exactly rocket science.

I'd double-check and see if you actually saw the *real* pilot, and if you didn't, watch that. If you did and still don't like, well, that's that.

No skin off this fan's nose.

I rented the first one of the DVDs on Netflix to watch, and it was incredibly dark at times, real hard to see what was going on. I'm not sure if it was a problem with the DVD, if the show has poor lighting, or if my TV had something batty going on with it for that one specific time, but I just couldn't see what was happening on the screen at times.

I own the DVDs and I've never had any issues like this, so it sound like it was perhaps just the specific DVD that you rented or something similar going on?

Oh, wow, sounds like a technical issue, yeah. That's not my experience with any of my dvds, so there's something else going on there.

I had a problem with the darkness on a DVD I rented from Netflix, but didn't have the same problem on a DVD I borrowed from a friend. See if you can borrow the discs from a friend?

yeah, that wasn't the show. That's plain old technical difficulties. I mean, maybe you'll hate it anyway, but it wasn't literally too dark when I watched it.
