Aw man, this is why I don't try to get my friends into series anymore. Because after you've invested yourself in a season or three and you can't quite hold back your love for this show and its characters, there are few things as awkward as sitting down with your friends to watch the first episode. "No, no, it...it like totally gets good. Like these characters...you wouldn't even believe."

It's also why my friends and I start newbies out on the paintball episode of Community.

Any show takes a few episodes for things to click and characters/relationships to settle.
