Non-con/rape is pretty much my favorite kink ever. Omega verse is rape-is-love, which is my least favorite trope ever. It's rape-is-love socially normalized on top of that, with forced pregnancy as the shit cherry on top. The entire concept makes me nauseous.

Basically, I can handle bad things shown as bad things (lol, handle. I really mean I fucking love it). I cannot handle bad things shown as being right and good and desirable.

I assume the readers get that what they're reading is horrifically wrong in every way, because I certainly get that about my rape kink, but the fic never seems to address that in any way except by skimming over it lightly before continuing onward with knotting ass sex babies.

that last bit made me giggle, but yes, i think that distinction is why i also can't stomach Omega verse/biological BDSM type stuff even though i like dark-fic and dub-con/rape fic. it's best when characters totally own the terrible shit they're doing and it's nothing close to rape-is-love.

A lot of it has rape-is-love overtones, but not all of it is like that. There is fic out there that deals with the contrast between biological urge and psychology/emotion and that very clearly shows the non-con to be non-con, even with the biological slant. That being said, that's definitely not what most of the omegaverse stuff out there is, so I can understand why so many people dislike it.

I've read a few that supposedly were doing that, but the characters still ended up together, which absolutely ruined it for me.

Velvet Mace. Chameleon. It's a Sherlock/Sentinel fusion wip and [potential spoiler?] John is the Guide omega and Sherlock the Sentinel alpha. John and Sherlock wants to be bonded with each other but John is match with an alpha he doesn't want. Both Sherlock and John are working their asses off to be together and it's amazing.

It might not be exactly what you're looking for but I found the politics behind the John/non-Sherlock match an the general worldbuilding to be well worth it.

I don't want to read Omega fic because I hate it with the passion of a thousand burning suns, but thank you for the rec.

No worries. If you're ever in the mood to read an omegaverse fic where the protagonist alpha and omega fight against their social stations, look this one up.

I won't be, but perhaps someone else will.
