I guess completely rational negative feelings about Firefly are not as acceptable as over-the-top irrational positive feelings about Firefly.

I guess, for me, the concept of YOU MUST WATCH THIS OR ELSE YOU ARE UNCULTURED OR YOU HAVEN'T TRIED ENOUGH rather outweighs, in terms of silliness and irrationality, the concept of WHY WOULD ANYONE HAVE TO WATCH SOMETHING?

Everyone involved cares, obviously. But I feel like the pro side is just a bit more ridiculous than the con.

I don't think I've seen anyone actually say "you haven't tried hard enough" or judge the OP on this, and obviously the OP wants feedback on this situation or why submit the secret (unless they hoped it would explode in wank, which... yep) so I guess I don't comprehend the con side's major complaint here.

If this thread were about any other show I'm pretty sure "maybe you should give it another try" would not be so controversial.

There are a number of individuals who take OP to task for not watching more than one episode. This thread admonishes the OP for not watching the whole thing, despite the OP's lack of interest. And there's a thread a little ways down that suggests that OP cannot possibly be familiar with sci-fi, because if OP was familiar, then OP would understand that it's necessary for one to stick with a show even when one dislikes it.

To me, that all smacks of "you haven't tried hard enough."
